God created us to have a pure relationship with Him. Because the first man Adam sinned, all of us have been birthed into sin. God is a holy God and cannot be in communion with a sinful creature. This then separates man from God forever.
When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned.
– Romans 5:12
But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear."
– Isaiah 59:2
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
– Romans 6:23
Under the Old Covenant that God made with His people, an animal became the sacrifice for their sin. But in the New Testament, God sent His only son Jesus to die on the cross in place of us sinful people. His perfect, blameless blood was shed, in order that we may have redemption and live.
But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
– Romans 5:8
Jesus Christ's life became the ultimate sacrifice through which we gain access to His Holy Throne, and have a right to call Him our Father. Because of a Holy God who died for us, we become acceptable to Him.
…the [Holy] Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.
– Romans 8:15-16
After Jesus’ resurrection, He ascended into Heaven and sent His promised Holy Spirit to reside and dwell with us.
I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper to be with you forever - the Spirit of Truth… He lives with you and He will be in you.
– John 14:16 – 17
We are also promised eternity in Heaven with Him. All we need to do is believe in our heart and confess Jesus Christ as Lord. He is gracious and just to forgive us of our sin.
...if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."– Romans 10:9 –10
Our prayer is that you will come to a deeper understanding and appreciation for what Jesus has done for you. Know that there is nothing you can do to make God not love you! He’s so crazy about you that He wants to have community with you forever. Jesus’ Eternal Salvation is waiting for you.
“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
– Romans 10:13
